Hi, I am José Ignacio (or jotai), a Chilean communicator focused on the exact point where content, media, brands, and digital strategy meet.

Since the late 90s, I have followed the transformation of the digital industry up close. By the mid-2000s, I had made it my job to anticipate where it might go next.
My experience spans B2B and B2C startups, creative agencies, media companies, and private organizations, with a broad background across almost every social platform. More than connecting audiences with brands, media, or services, my goal is to create fans: whether it is a committed techie or someone who casually stumbles into my projects, I design strategies that build memorable and effective connections.
In 2021, I shifted toward user experience, applying everything I had learned to design and implement strategies centered, above all, on people. I care deeply about collaboration and team problem-solving: I love experimenting with interaction formats and testing new methods that make continuous growth possible.
Since 2005, I have written and edited stories about consumer technology, social media, the digital economy, startups, and much more. Believe me, I have seen almost everything. In my newsletter futuros, I shared reflections on the convergence of technology and culture; since 2020, I have also been part of the editorial team at Techmeme, the technology news aggregator read daily by Mark Zuckerberg and Sundar Pichai.
